I wouldn't let a stupid virus keep me away from partying!

Yeah! Was just browsing through Instagram today and heard some of the youngsters "exerting their rights" in that way. To them, I wanted to say, "Yo! Sure Keep partying but don't go back home to your parents and grandparents. They didn't ask to be the victim of your geniuses." Then I came across a hashtag #boomerremover and some other not so nice things some youngsters wishing upon baby boomer generation. Yeah! No words. Nothing left to say. Nothing I want to say anymore. My mind goes blank when I hear or read that level of thinking. I feel numb! Moral: People and stupidity go hand in hand. Anywhos, we in India are currently under nationwide "Janata Curfew" (voluntary curfew) today (Sunday from 7 am to 9 pm). After that, the state I am living in will be under Section 144 (curfew which disallows gathering of more than five people) from 9 pm to 12 am. This is to disallow people from coming out of their homes in large numbers as soon as the Janata Curfew ends. We will continue to be under lockdown till March 31st at the very least. With 340 tested positive and death count at 6, the number is rising steadily. However, that is nothing as compared to what is going on in Europe. It's devastating! How are you all doing? I hope everyone is staying safe and taking the necessary precautions.
Here's how cities across India observed the janata curfew, a one-day citizen's lockdown, to fight the rising number of coronavirus cases.

Well it is early days here in the UK. We are self isolating as much as possible. Cafes restaurants pubs and bars are not allowed to open. If people can work from home they are being advised to. Older people 70+ advised to isolate. No church services but only via television. I thought the hashtag was quie appropriate boomer remover made me laugh but seriously they will be whining and crying when they bring this virus home to their parents or grandparents. You be safe!

I think some of them will contract this disease and end up paying the ultimate price for their stupidity.

Here we are on stay at home orders - not a total lockdown but perhaps they should because not everyone is listening or some folks have their own interpretations of the orders. On this news, we are seeing people in parks and beaches - yes they are outdoors in nature and maybe a bit further apart than normal - but I don't think that is social distancing exactly. The virus will not discriminate - we now know young people can be affected too - and if not, they could still be carriers - they don't seem to understand how that all works. Please stay safe and take care out there!

@rebelann Oh my gosh this is from when it all started ! How crazy it's almost been a year . . . and I still have the same exact opinions about it. We live in advanced times with advanced knowledge and communication where it is possible to live and take care of ourselves better. Although human behavior is a whole 'nother thing. I don't know if I mentioned it, but for Halloween 2020, my son was a black plague doctor .

It's even hit some really young kids and killed a couple of them, this is not a virus to sneeze at but I still think it could be worse, like the black plague.

I wanted to launch a big myLot party, I thought that you were starting one. I would have brought the champagne. I am locked at home since last Tuesday like any French (except those going on the streets...), spending a lot of time online. And I eat too much, but somebody gave the trick to eat less : wearing a mask at home. Interesting your curfew following another curfew. Here they forbade all the beaches, I think it is more to not make people living far from the sea like me jealous than for health reasons. And a few cities took this opportunity to put a curfew, although with the law forcing us to stay at home no curfew is needed, but we have a few zealous mayors thinking that their authority will cure the virus. I wish you a good day. Take care of yourself and don't open your door to strangers.

We are all required to stay at home, no more than 5 people allowed together and they must keep the distance of at least 1 meter. We have many cases here in Switzerland, all the seniors have been asked not to go out buying grocery, there are volunteers who get our lists and bring the food at our door. It's not to protect the youngsters, it's to protect the elders, because the teenagers seem totally irresponsible.

@LadyDuck Youngsters are rebelling. This is no time to rebel. I agree they are being irresponsible as well. What is the point of being internet savvy when you can't use it properly and learn what is going on around the world?

@LadyDuck I saw the same thing with youngsters at Miami and Hawaii. Beach parties! "Oh, they are so distraught that their Spring Break is being ruined." Gosh! People are DYING!!!! Grrr...

Thankfully, I haven't seen anyone using the boomer remover hashtag. If I had, I would be very upset. I'm not part of the boomer generation, but it still upsets me greatly that some people out there think like that. We should be doing everything we can to protect our older generations, not try to get rid of them.

@rebelann I guess that young people today think that because they have all the technology and answers right at their fingertips that they don't need to learn anything from their elders. Until, that is, the power goes out or the internet goes down. Then they have no idea what to do with themselves!

Our state has a stay at home order and our county does too. I don't understand why younger people don't care. It's terrible being sick. I used to get bronchitis alot when I was younger. I hated it.
