Vulnerability at the supermarket

This week I had my first adventure after the quarantine started.
I have been "locked at home" for a week now and after these days of quarantine, I had to go to the supermarket.
And I must tell that it was AWFUL.
I live 5 minutes away from a supermarket and went by foot. No problem here. But as soon as I entered and I started overthinking. And every surface that I touched was a major problem (shelves, doors, handles, etc.). I started feeling my hands dirty! And it was really bothering me.
Do you also feel anxious when you go out? Are you afraid of this virus?

@fufurinha Volunteering sounds too formal. I ask them if they can buy something for me or they ask me if they can bring something for me.

That is nice! Who is organizing that? The city hall?

@fufurinha Yes, the city hall has organized that, because seniors are asked to stay home.

I haven’t been out in over a week, because my husband worries too much about me. I worry about him, but he wears gloves when he goes out and throws them away before he gets into the car.
We have plenty of gloves and have given many to our friends and neighbors.
Stay safe and smart!

But even though it is just him leaving, you both need to be extra careful!

@DianneN well, that seems enough for me. You'll probably be fine (both of you!)

@fufurinha I am worried, although he hasn’t been out lately.
When he comes in the house, he takes off his shoes, washes his hands, and takes a shower while I sterilize every sing thing including the doorknob.

I work in a grocery store and while we have gloves and wipes for employees and customers to use, I am still scared that someone with coronavirus will breathe or cough on me. I really wish I could quarantine but I need money and will still be working. Now it's not a matter of IF I get the virus but a matter of WHEN for me.

They say that most of us will get the virus. I am not scared of that. I just it to catch in a few months, and not pass it to anyone! That is my major issue... if I pass it to someone I love.

@fufurinha Well I think it was just hay fever. I just realized it a few hours ago. I emailed my doctor who said to take guaifinesin and allergy medication. I faced a similar predicament about 10 years ago. I went through a panic at that time.

I only go out to work these days.
Even then I have a pair of covid gloves, that are a bit thicker then those thin blue medical gloves, and I always have them in the car and when I get out of the car, I take them with me.
Better safe then sorry.
Stay safe.

I haven't been out since Monday. And since we have a confirmed case a few blocks away from the house, I will not attempt to go out anymore.

This virus has certainly made us all think more about what we do. The best thing to do is to wash your hands as soon as you get home.

We are somehow paranoid. But in some way, this is good to make us think more on our actions.
