In all my 54 years ( ssshhhh!!!) I have never known a situation like it.
This Corona virus really is hitting the world hard ….
Here in good old England we are now in Lockdown, with even the Prime Minister and Prince Charles with the virus !
We are not supposed to go out unless it is really necessary...to shop or for medical reasons....( although we can go out to exercise ! )
Rod and I went to the shops this morning for us and my parents ( we are currently living with them ).
It was mid morning ...a long story ...Rod didn't get up !!! Lol x
I was surprised to see that there was a queue of only about twenty people waiting to enter the supermarket ….I had thought that the queues would be much longer.
Anyway , we only had to wait about 15 minutes before it was our turn to go inside and do our shopping. They were letting people in 10 at a time once some had come out.
Luckily there was no time restriction to be inside the store and we were able to get over 90% of what was on my long list.
Whilst it did seem a strange experience as a lot of people were wearing face masks and scarves and waiting til you passed, at least we were able to shop, and things were available.
If this had been happening sooner then maybe the shelves wouldn't have been empty for several days , making people panic even more !!!

We haven't been to shop for about ten days so I don't know what is happening in our small town. Last time we were there, you could go in and out as you pleased.

They were wearing scarves instead of masks? A 15-minute wait is not that bad. I wonder if there is a restriction on how long you can shop at the store...

Our grocery stores are still open, but we are ordering ours online and scheduling a delivery. We do not even go to the store to pick them up.
They are reporting that a lot of the panic buying is over now. People here are realizing that they need to eat, and apparently the stores are selling out of all meat quite early in the day.
My husband ordered a hind quarter of organic beef for us which we picked up in mid-February, just as this virus was picking up speed, so we feel very stocked and safe.
