Darn Neighbor!

We have stayed inside our condo except for the times we sit on the lanai to get some sunshine and fresh air. We prefer to be home alone.
Yesterday, to our shock, our doorbell rang. It was our next door neighbor, who checks on our condo when we return to our house up north.
I opened the door, stepped back away from him, and mentioned the physical distancing thing to him. He then did the same.
However, he needed my WiFi access for a problem he was having, and being a wonderful neighbor, I closed the door on him, wrote down the information, and opened the door to hand it to him.
That was the problem! Handing it to him! Once that was done, he read it over, then stepped forward to ask me about a letter and a number.
If you don’t hear from me in two weeks or less, you’ll know I caught the virus.
He should have called me!

Some people just cannot grasp what social distancing means. Next time you open the door to anyone just use your broom to ensure that there is a distance between you and them! Some people need locking up Dianne.

@garymarsh6 I saw a meme of a canon today as a way of keeping people away.
To me, yes, he’s not the brightest star in the sky.

He probably wanted to SEE another human being. I'm glad you did the social distancing thing while giving him your info.
I absolutely love your image. It made me laugh and smile. It also makes me want to watch that movie. Good one. Thank you.
I doubt you'll get the virus. I'm sure you've already showered and taken every precaution since closing the door.

As long as you washed your hands afterwards, and didn't get too close to him, I am sure you will be fine.

I agree that as long as you washed your hands you should be okay. I know how scared you are

@kobesbuddy We had a load of people on our beach today.
My friend, who has cancer, just sent me a text. I only read the blurb that popped up, but her husband told them they are endangering us all.
Off to read it now.

I hate when that kind of thing happens. And for whatever dumb reason, it seems to happen all too often.
Wash your hands, wash your face, gargle, don't swallow any bleach, that won't be necessary. Lock your doors and emphatically remind everyone, including the neighbor to CALL!

@DianneN It is scary, that's for sure. I'm glad for your sake that you're not going down that road again.

If he had your number , he could have called or texted but maybe he felt this was a human contact matter just encase you’d decline over phone or text (would be easier) than in person. Very nice of you to provide your passcode to him. I probably would not have

@infatuatedbby Never thought of that! Thanks!
He will be out of luck anyway when we return north and stop service.

Sometimes people can be so inconsiderate. Too many think this is simply an inconvenience so they just go about their everyday lives like nothings gonna happen.
I'm lucky, even in the best of times no one visits me so I don't have to worry about anyone knocking on my door.

He should have just written a note and left it by your door and then let you write it down and put by his door. He never should have rang your bell. On Purim stupid people went out and they left mishloah manot which are gifts people give on that holiday and they knocked on my door. I would not answer because I do not want to get sick. I don't eat that stuff and kept tuna and pineapple in a can and then gave to two people here and put by their doors and the rest went out and did not open anything. I stopped eating potato chips and candy a while ago. I do not understand why people do not respect others at this time.

That is interesting he called to thank you, but, could not call to get the information. Maybe he realized he was wrong because of the virus to show up at your door. I am trying my best, but, it is hard when others do not follow rules and then we get stricter ones because of them.

@DianneN can you imagine the world 10 years from now, when we don't open doors because of virus issues?

Yeah, that definitely could have been handled with a phone call. I've been shocked at how lightly people are taking the social distancing orders.
