My Version of Potato Gratin.

Hello all. I made potato gratin again. I think this is the third time I made this ever since I learn of this thank you to @thelme55. My daughter loves it so much. The potato is just way overprice I think. I bought 4 potatoes for Php 200 ($4). This will stretch our menu for the next few days too. What is your lunch/dinner breakfast?

I like the picture and it looks tasty. But I don't know what a gratin is. All I know is only gratis and not gratin.

A gratin is a French dish that has bread crumbs or cheese on top and is cooked in an oven @Alexandoy. It can be eaten as lunch or dinner. You can also make a vegetable gratin.

just potato slices, soak in milk and all purpose cream, add some grated cheese, salt and pepper, then cook in oven

Your potato dish looks great but not the price. it is way too much. Perhaps you want to say 4 Kg. potato for $4, even then the price is high.

I just put the sliced potato in a mixture of milk and all purpose cream. I put grated cheese, salt and pepper. Put it pan and baked it

We had " lumpiang Shanghai" ( Shanghai style spring rolls) , easy to cook, cut and divide so we could count how many pieces each would get, ration, we need to conserve.

@rakski The potatoes are not expensive here, what is imported is more expensive. Four kilos of potatoes are about 25/30 potatoes and not 4 and.

Yummy! Thank you for the mention. Potatoes are so expensive there. Is that 1kilo of potatoes? I have made potato gratin a few days ago and I added smoked sausages. Sometimes I added broccoli, too.

@rakski you can add slices of longanisa or chorizo in your potato gratin. That is so delicious. I have done that when I was in Pinas.

it is very to do. Yes it is cheese on top. My daughter said it is like pasta and filling too. just slice the potato, put it in a mixture of milk and all purpose cream, add grated cheese, salt and pepper. Add more cheese for the toppings
