Holidays are tough

I've always loved the holidays. Family getting together. Eating all kinds of food. Laughter. Today, there was none of that. Didn't see my kids :'( not enough of the right foods for me to eat. Very little laughter. Hubby and I had agreed to do a turkey dinner for today. We never made it to the store to get the side dishes. I couldn't get the kids to commit to come over. We ended up over at a friend's house yesterday and had to stay the night. My mom started the turkey, but didn't know how to use the injector. By the time we got home, the food was already out away. What food I could have, my nephew ate it all. >( there's one positive I need to focus on, I got to see my grandson today. :) :) He just amazed me how smart he gets, for a 5 yr old, every time we see him. He knows how to brighten my space with his jokes :)

Actually, it seems you were lucky in a way to be around so many relatives. Most of us were socially isolating and couldn't be around family and friends. Are you not socially isolating?

My mother, sister n nephew live with us. Our friends we haven't seen in 2 months. I love my mother but there are times I need a break from her and the other 2.

At five years old, children are lovely and they can be very amusing at times.

This children at a young age can bring joy and be very amusing so it's nice to actually have them around
