Ice jam on the river

I went for a walk by the river and saw huge sheets of ice racing down the the river, cracking, and splitting into large chunks that created an ice jam on the river. The floating ice was very powerful and made loud noises as it crashed into the bridge structure. It was a lovely to see the power of nature close up. It was also a good sign that as the ice was melting and spring may finally be here soon. However it has got cold again so spring will have to wait a little longer.
