Covid-19 and my thoughts

Over the last month or so since we had our first few patients with convid-19 and seeing the ward fill up with more patients and wondering when all this will end.
Seeing death almost daily not knowing if that patient you were chatting to will be alive or dead by the time you go into work the next day. Or maybe they are taking their last few breaths while you are in working and no family being able to be with them in the final moments.
When you get home and watch the news and hear of people being stupid, not listening to the government, stay at home and stay safe, it makes me wonder, some people don’t get it. It not worth losing your life, losing love ones. The message is simple.
Then you hear about counties lifting lockdowns and thinking it’s way too SOON, we need to have a lockdown for longer. We need to have more testing, we need to have a vaccine, we need to be sure we don’t see more death, we don’t need to see our love ones die because the country going to sh-- because of a lockdown. We need to make sure that we are safe before we can re-open for business.
I fear if lockdown is lifted too soon we could see a second wave which could be bigger with even more deaths
Stay at home and stay safe!!

You may well be right, people don't see it and understand what it's like and only see it happen on TV and think it won't happen to them.

Some people believe they are invincible. No brains at all.

Most people with no brains are not invincible no matter what they think. Then there are a few lucky ones.

Glad to see you're still in the fight. I'm back to work at least for now. We've been given face masks to wear at work and have been told that face shields are ordered and on the way. We do have strict social distancing guidelines but I kind of debate whether our work making kitchens is really essential right now. On the bright side, New Brunswick Canada is not suffering as bad as other parts of the country. Stay safe.

You are so right Kevin, when I read here about people not trusting that this virus is dangerous I get sick. Too many are still playing with their life, but worse, with the life of others.
Our Government is extending the lockdown until the beginning of May, then only a few activities wills tart again.
Take care Kevin.

Will anything ever be safe again from the coronavirus until we get a vaccine? That could be years.
I cannot believe the stupidity of people not taking this seriously. Everything will be delayed from getting better until people get serious.

That is true. If the lockdown is lifted too soon, the probability of a second wave will increase. Especially if not all PUI's have been cleared. Assuming that all who got infected went to the hospital and did not try to self-medicate.
Maybe if and only if, the number of positive will stop increasing within an area or city, maybe the lockdown or quarantine protocol could be toned down a bit. But traveling from one city or town to another should be restricted.

The country or the globe can't stay in lock down forever, that is unreasonable. Of course when people began getting back to 'living' the virus if it is still viable will certainly show its head. That's to be expected also. The dying isn't over and sad as that is the living isn't over either. There is no 100% right thing to do here.

I totally agree with you. It's a tough situation around the globe and we all need to come together to fight it. It's time to act sensible, follow the lockdown rules and keep safety and precautions as priority. Because of few idiots, the whole effort might go down the drain. Kudos to the frontline warriors who risk their lives to help us in this crisis. We can do our part to help them by staying indoors as much as possible and breaking the chain of spread.

I think all governments including Indian government are guilty of taking it lightly, and the WHO did err by expressing disappointment when people traveling from China and elsewhere were being blocked. However, we cannot live in the past, nor transfer the blame on others and be cool about it. More lock down is needed.

Many people violate the rules and thus endanger their own and others' lives.
