Just want to share this with you all. Since my daughters are into KPop stars nowadays and I also like Korean dramas, our meals are also getting some Korean invasion. Isolation can really do a lot of things for a person. Since were binge watch K-dramas these days, we are getting influence to also have the same food as they eat from there. I ended up making some kimchi so that we can have that as our side dish whenever we eat. But I made the not so spicy version though. Now I'm craving for some mochi but since it's still lock down, I can only have what I can make from the limited supplies I can get. I made a Korean toast instead and hope that the quarantine will be over soon. How about you guy? Did you changed your usual meals because of influence?

In our case, we usually get our Korean meals when we eat at this neat little restaurant in Calamba, Laguna. At a price of two bucket meals, we could get a Korean meal for five people.

That's a great deal! I like samgyumpsal a lot so we end up doing it at home nowadays.

@Mamerto32 I'm thankful that there some meat and vegetable shops around where I live. It made it easier for me to have those ingredients.

@cherriefic since my cousins bought this samgyumpsal plate, I think we will go shopping for pork belly this Saturday (our shopping schedule for the lock-down).

My eldest son learned to make Gochujang (spicy bean paste) spicy chicken because he's a deck officer in a Korean shipping company, it tastes really good when he cooks it. Somebody also always sells and delivers kimchi to our house before the pandemic.

@cherriefic The one we buy is original, made by a Korean lady, then she lets her Filipina friend sell it for her, the Filipina is my wife's friend. I prefer mine very hot.

Kimchi is just like our version of "buro". It just happens to be spicy but it can be done using alternative ingredients since it's expensive using authentic ones.

I still eat local dishes in our country. I can say they are not that pricey. My family and I need to cut down the expenses because of the lockdown.

I just use the local ingredients and see it fit the same dishes to keep the costs low.

We are eating less meat because it's a bit hard to find what we want.

It's a bit hard to find the right ingredients especially from what's happening.

There are a lot of ingredients but you just need to assemble them just like other sandwiches. You have to toast the bread, put the veggies with egg (cabbage, onions, onion leeks & carrots), add fried ham, cheese, mayo & ketchup.

We are pretty stocked up and can eat what we want. There are still a lot of things we can't get in the stores though! You made kimchi? Very brave! That's not something I would try.

Yes I did. Looks and taste the same as what a kimchi should be. But with just a little spiciness. I can't handle too much spicy food. Good that you have a lot of food stock around. It's not as easy as before to even buy something next door.

It's hard to think of meals everyday so it's best to learn a few new recipes I guess.
