Because of COVID-19 family doctors can do phone consults with their patients which they get paid for. I wasn't feeling well for the past week and finally and reluctantly decided to call my doctor for an appointment. I was told he is taking phone appointments so I made one for the same day.
He called promptly at the appointed time and I told him what my issues were. Guess what? he told me to come in to the office as he would need to examine me and booked an appointment for the next day.
Is there any need for a phone consult with your doctor if they can't really help you over the phone?

Certainly not all issues can be dealt with over the phone. If it ain't necessary, a doctor won't ask you to see them personally at times like this.

It is difficult to accurately access without an actual exam, depending on the situation
