Misplaced Orville the Osprey

Sure enough the tree cutters arrived to trim Orville the Osprey’s favorite palm tree as well as other trees. Orville is my favorite seahawk and visits me often.
I was so shocked when they cut his favorite fronds off the tree.
Sure enough, I saw him land on a frond this morning, but an upper frond hit him on his back. He flapped his wings and tried to resettle, then gave up and flew away.
I may not see him again this year, since we will be home in Connecticut two weeks from today.
I’m heartbroken.

That breaks my heart too - the tree trimming disrupted his safety spot. But I know nature can adapt quite well (better than us) - he will find a new place and I have a feeling he will be ok. Maybe when the fronds grow back a bit, Orville will be back again too - and by that time you may be back too!

Thanks for sympathizing with me.
He’s tried three times since I posted this. Between trying, he flew to our roof and chirped and sang. On one trip, he peeked in my window! I knocked on it to let him know that I saw him. He’s so big and handsome.

@much2say I feel awful for him. He loved to sit there for hours.
However, he just flew to the roof again, singing and chirping with his sweet loud voice, and I saw his white underpants or socks as they are called.. Fluffy fat little belly, too.

Everything needed trimming it seems. Orville’s tree had a lot of coconuts and some dried up fronds.
He did try three more times to find a perch on that tree, poor boy.
He flew by my window twice and peeked in on his way to the roof.
I got to see his fuzzy white underpants twice!

@wolfgirl569 I want him on that tree! It’s my best view of him.
Hopefully, he will try again.
Omg! He returned for the third time just now, but sat on a back frond! Just flew off.

I never noticed them being trimmed. The fronds fall off by themselves and the gardeners throw them away.
I hear him chirping. I think he’s on the roof now.
Omg! He just tried the tree again and peeked in my window on the way back to the roof!

He'll still be around, don't worry! He's still got his nest somewhere nearby.

I saw him try to find a perch on the tree three times today. He did peek in the window twice to say hi.
The fronds usually just fall off by themselves. This was the first time I ever saw them being trimmed. This one had a lot of coconuts which they removed.
