The Tiger Café is located on I-10 in Gross Tete, Louisiana and is open 24 hours. This business is mainly a truck stop, but also has a convenience store and a restaurant in a separate building for travelers. You can ask any truck drive that comes through the area where to eat in that area and Tiger Café will be the answer.
This place became famous for housing a Bengal Tiger, named Tony. This tiger has been at the truck stop for years, and was there before the law was passed about prohibiting Bengal Tigers from captivity. This business has been fighting the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries for years for the right to keep Tony at the truck stop.
PETA has also joined in over the years trying to get the tiger released and put down. Yeah, they are compassionate folks, huh?
The new addition that had been on the news was a new zebra. We stopped on our way to my oldest daughter's house on our last trip because hubby was hungry. So we also walked out to see the zebra. It turned out he was in a different area but I did see the kangaroo in the photo above and another animal that looked like a Zemur monkey but was another creature that started with the letter "c." I don't recall the name of it.
All in all, the food was good and I enjoyed taking a look at the animals.

That is wonderful I love to see different animals. Nice photo of the kangaroo. I read about a tiger named Tony that was a mascot of a sports team is this the same one?

It's nice that they have a kangaroo. PETA really worries me. Sometimes they are just plain ignorant and don't know what they're talking about. If they had a bit of factual knowledge you might be a bit more sympathetic to their cause.

@kareng My late niece would travel with her aunt and her late uncle from Alexandria to Metairie to visit us while attended college in Alexandria.
