First it was the rustling wind and beginning pitter patter
That allured me to onto the porch as the thunderstorm began
The dry ground released its aroma of welcoming the raindrops
To water it, the plants, grass, trees and make puddles
Where squirrels and birds enjoy playing or getting a drink
The flowers in enjoyment release their sweet aromas into the air
Allowing the blowing wind to send its beauty for my nose to enjoy
Before the thunder, hail and spraying rain on me drives me back inside
To watch the storm to continue unfold from the sliding glass door
The blowing trees, the shades on the patio whipping round
The sky darkening, the heavy rain with some some hail
Pounding on the roof making its presence known to the ears
Till after a short time the thunderstorms moves on down the road
It is just amazing how much the senses can enjoy a simple sstorm.

I don't mind a good rainstorm but you can leave out the thunder and lightning in my opinion. One of my friends revels in it.

That is lovely and I agree the smell of the earth when it rains is sweet indeed.

You did well to invoke the senses with your description of the storm.
