Car or a house?

Which would you prefer first? Both are important but if I am to decide, I would choose the house first then the car. My other family member said that a car is a necessity especially during this time of crisis. With a car, we can easily evacuate the whole family to somewhere safe. And I totally agree to that idea but isn't it funny to own a brand new car but your house isn't yet finished?

when you have a car and you rent, believe me, you will get into a lot of troubles because of the parking space.

@sharon6345 i think the situation there is different from the Philippines. it's a case to case basis. renting a house in America is better than owning a house. here in the Philippines, it is the opposite. By rhe way, i though the government there provided free housing for someone like you.

@sharon6345 as far as i heard, the tax there is very high when own a house. well not as sigh as here. Plus you have your own parking space. we have a house in another city but no one lives there. here, in other city (my least favorite) we rent. and we cannot park our car here because it is a commercial space. wish we.could move to.a residential place.

We didn’t have money for a house so a car was first. It’s way easier to get a car then it is a house it takes longer to save for a house depending on where you live and cost for a house.

I like the idea of developing your car or bus into a house for travel just the way i saw it in some american movies.

@renicemae Um here did you get that I was talking about a car or bus as house. I was saying depending on where you live a house can be easier to buy then a car or the other way around. Where I live people are more likely to buy a car first before they buy a house because cars are cheap. A house coast like an arm and leg sort of speak. Do getting a down payment or money for it can take years

@ShyBear88 Yeah I get what you are saying. In my place, both are expensive but most people would rather choose a house first. Having a car is more of a luxury.

It is an easy choice for me. Here the most important thing is the house. Besides, the real estate price keeps increasing. And at least you have somewhere to settle down and this is why the house is much more important. As to the car, it is OK to be without it. You can take advantage of the public traffic and even rent a car. A car price will drop no matter what.

You need a house; but a car is essential to get to your work.

A car diminishes in value the moment you bring it out of the " casa ". Buy a house and lot in a safe location and develope it to be defendable against any calamity or crisis, bugging in is better than bugging out when you have no sure place to go. Buy a cheap dependable second hand vehicle later ( just a friendly advice) House and lot goes up in value with time.

This is a hard question too. Im getting older so i should be getting either one. Its a necessity for both a car and a house. Both are a liability if you are not using it to get income. I learned that from rich dad poor dad. House is an investment and the lot increases in value but it doesnt bring in revenue if you dont rent it. A car's value diminishes faster than a house. But a car is a necessity if you need to travel place to place. I would choose a house or a condo and rent it out.
