I'm glad to get the newest boy in my foster family admitted in the school run by the Familia Society. His books and exercise books were sent to us by the school clerk. The boy is thrilled to see his books. He asked, "Papa, can I go to school from tomorrow?" He came to us about four months ago. He was a blank slate when he came. I began to hometeach him. In three months, he has learned to read alphabets and small words. He knows to say and write numbers upto 50. He can do simple addition and subtraction. He has shown very encouraging progress . I am sure , with proper support, he will be able to complete his education. As the schools are under lockdown he cannot go to school soon. However, the teachers are giving online lessons and home work. He will have to have his classes at my table as long as the school is closed. People guess and guess endlessly but it appears the children cannot go back to schools until June end.

School is always exciting. Sad the situation we have now that the children cannot go to school yet. But the school will open still. In the meantime, the parents are the best teachers. Good this boy has the excitement for learning, as every child should.

He surely is excited to learn and I believe that will take him far. He and his two sisters suffered much hardship before they were taken into our family.

I remember when you started helping this little boy. You have done a marvellous job getting him to this level. That is so good.

Such a good progress already, he will do very well in school. Have you ever heard of Imagination Library by Dolly Parton?

So you are a foster parent? I was too. My daughter came at age 7. Now I am an adoptive parent, a mother-in-law and grandma! Your boy is so cute and I'm sure you are doing a great job helping him catch up. "Ganbatte!" (Japanese encouraging word for "keep on persisting, good luck, you can do it...")

In different words, I have been saying "Ganbatte!" to him. It seems it has helped him.
