Two days ago I went walking with my husband to the neighborhoods. Unexpectedly I found jaboticaba tree which bears a lot of fruit. They are very interesting trees because they bear fruit on old growth trunks and branches, making the tree look much like it’s covered with purple cysts. I felt so excited, because when I was still in Indonesia,I dreamed to try eating this fruit. But this fruit was said to only could be found in south America. The fruit is dark purple, round, as big as a grape, and it has white flesh and a seed in it.
So, I picked up some of its fruits, brought it home.
I washed the fruits before I ate them. I tried one, two..and continued eating them as i couldn't stop eating the fruits. They taste like grapes. So delicious.

That's new to me. Why its fruits sprout out from its trunk rather than in twigs or branches?

The fruits do sprout out from its branches too. But mostly from its trunk. I know, it is weird.

It is really weird. People who don't know about this fruit may think that it is not edible.

@Miss_Leafy @lazydaizee @Lavanya15 What a strange tree! This species doesn't grow in Europe. I've found a very impressive photo on the net.

OMG. Is that jaboticaba tree? The one that I found near my apartment is only 2 meter tall. It's not a big tree.
