Does any one like to sew and just use pieces of material?

I like to sew too but I usually end up with something for my bedroom such as pillow case or my baby crib accessories.

I like sewing, I often like to know what I am sewing but it is fun to be random at times.

If I can pry myself away from the computer, I will get my sewing machine out and try that and see what happens. But prying myself from the computer is going to be a major thing. LOL

I do this sometimes, usually it ends up as a bag or pouch, but I start just by folding and sewing a piece of fabric and see what it turns into.

I have never tried it with no idea in mind but it sounds like fun. I usually have had some idea of what I was aiming for when I sew. Now it doesn't always end up like I envisioned grant it LOL...What sort of things have you ended up with doing this?

I'm too afraid to waste my precious material! However, I do like to do random embellishment with my sewing machine, especially on purses and wallets.

I did exactly that years ago. I had a pile of old blue jeans that were too worn out for anything, but I am a pack rat and never throw anything away. I just sat down one day and took all the back pockets off, then cut off the usable sections off the legs, and cut all the rest into thin strips. I ended up making a pile of blue jean pillows with pockets all over, and stuffed with the strips. My then teen aged girls loved them.
