Heat Lightning

Just the other day we have witnessed 'heat lightning'. I think this was the first time I have seen one in my entire life. Children and adults alike in our household were scared what this must be. It looked like strong lightning in the sky that will never stop, only that it is only light and no thunder sounds. And unlike the real one, the heat lightning just seem to be thunder and lightning that keeps firing non-stop and you'd be scared it will hit someone or something, because it appeared very close maybe just a few houses away or happening over the nearby river. I later learned this is not a real lightning but a reflection of light from a thunderstorm that is happening somewhere very far. But because of what has been happening around one after another and the climate changes, things like this can scare some people. Thankfully Google was there I learned immediately what the phenomenon is called. Have you had something happen recently that is not usual?

I think heat lightning is a phenomenon that more often happens in the middle of a continent, not so much on islands. It was very common where I grew up (Indiana in the middle of the US) but I only see it occasionally in Japan.

Maybe you're right because i cant remember seeing anything like this before. There was a storm happening in some parts of the country far from our region and where i am it is very hot probably the hottest we have experienced. But i dont know if the light reflecting came from the part of the country where there is storm or somewhere else, maybe even from other country.
