My Mobility Scooter

I have a mobility scooter and have had it for quite some time now. It is great when I can use it to go to town and get things that are too heavy for me to carry and to appointments far away. There are places I cannot go to and with either take a bus or walk after I leave my scooter somewhere. I wrote this post actually because in the winter I have a plastic over it to protect me from the rain. The wind blows it and wants to blow me over with it too. Why I mentioned that is I usually take the plastic off for summer, but, because of this virus I wanted added protection so am still keeping it on and hope when I have to venture out will help along with my mask.

It is something very very important to me. It is my transportation besides my feet.

@Hannihar Yes, I remember, we talked a lot about it ... but then you were a little revolted, somewhere your scooter couldn't pass if I remember correctly ?! I know you were angry, did anyone park on the sidewalk ... something like that

I have lots of problems with how people park in our one parking spot for the building even though there is a sign up. They do not read signs and then there have been people parking on the sidewalk so I cannot get out or get down to my building. Lately I have been doing a lot of walking around my area and not venturing to town.

I think it will be too hot if you keep it for summer.

@Hannihar If that's gonna be the safest way to do it, then you can just ignore the heat for now.

You are right but I am keeping it on for my protection. I do not use it that much. I am staying in my area and only using it when I have to go to appointments not close by.

You are right they are. For a long time there were not many here and when I could finally get one there were many.

Do they have them where you live? It took me a very long time to get one and bus riding was horrible before I got it.

Is that plastic cover a shield for your entirety? Here, some scooters have a plastic canopy that covers all the sides.

It is what I put on in the winter to shield me from the rain so it does not come in. I am not going to take it off because I feel I would not feel safe out in the open with just my mask on. I look forward to taking it off for when the weather gets nice out and do not need it but because of the virus I feel better with it on.

@Hannihar what a coincidence. I saw in the news just a while ago an electric scooter with the plastic shield.

The plastic is what we put on for winter. It rains here in the winter and need protection. I have to clean off the plastic so much because cannot use windshield wipers.

Mine is a mobility scooter. Mine saved my life and I can park it anywhere. I use it to when I was to go to places past town and have heavy things I cannot carry myself. It is my transportation or my feet are if I do not have to buy any heavy things.

Our bad weather is behind us. I have not been using it lately so have not taken it off. I then thought since we still have to wear masks and social distance and I have to go to an area past town I will keep the plastic on to have added protection from this virus.

I've thought about getting a mobility scooter since I have a hard time walking long distances. Of course with lockdown I haven't been anywhere so my thoughts of a scooter aren't on my mind.
Keeping the plastic on your scooter is a good idea as added protection

I hope when the virus goes away you can get a mobility scooter. I love mine. Thanks and I think it is a good idea to leave the plastic on too.

I actually have something I put over my scooter to protect it where I store it. I do it because of the neighbors because one did bother it. I had to get an alarm so nobody would mess with it, but, yet they put their baby carriages close to it. I put a sign on it and not sure it will help.

We are only supposed to have rain in the winter so I take it off when the weather is nice because I like the open beating down on me. Since we have the virus and have to wear masks and social distance I will keep it on for added protection.
