This lovely book certainly does as it says in the title, it really does show the reader how to recreate antique style bears and dolls. It provides patterns , instructions and lists of materials that you will need to make your own bears and dolls that are copies of the originals.
So if you love this sort of collectable , but do not want to pay for an original, why not try and make one yourself.

That sounds really cool. Have you made one yourself?

The important thing is if you were happy with the teddy bears you made. Maybe they were perfect to you.

@Hannihar They were at the time and other people wanted them so I even made some to sell. I did not make much money from them only enough to pay for the fabric and the stuffing, but I did enjoy making them.

Not one of these, but I have made teddy bears in the past. They were just plain teddy bears made from a paper pattern and with fake fur that I brought from the local market. The bears I made were nowhere near as interesting as the ones in this book.

They do look quite complicated but the patterns and instructions are well explained, and look like they would be easy for somebody who knows what they are doing. Perhaps your friend Toni would like this book , or maybe she already has a copy.

It is a lovely book with lots of photos of dolls and toys that have been made from the patterns and instructions in the book.
