Friends dropped in to see us this afternoon and to introduce us to the newest member of their family. They have just acquired an Australian terrier called Lexie. Isn’t she just the cutest little puppy? She is eight weeks old and our friends had only picked her up a few hours before they called on us. She was quite confident and very friendly.
Australian terriers have short legs and a medium length shaggy harsh double coat. It is descended from rough coated brought from Great Britain to Australia in the early 19th century. The original purpose of terriers was to eradicate mice and rats. Isn’t she cute?

I judge how cute dogs are by how much they bark! Or don't bark! lol If Lexie behaves and doesn't bark all the time, then I'll be happy to say that is one cute little pup!

@JudyEv That's good. Because I can't stand happy dogs either. Drives me absolutely crazy!

She is cute. There is a commercial that comes on here that features a guy and a puppy. It makes me want a puppy so bad. Puppies for some reason seem to be hard to find around here though, and that has been the case for a while. I know when I had my dog I had to go to a different county to get a puppy.

@JudyEv I don't think adding a dog to my life at this point in time is the right thing to do. I like Jax because he is not a permanent guest! Maybe sometime, but I like the idea of a dog rather than actually caring for them. Cats are much easier.

@snowy22315 I'm with you. The 'idea' is good but the reality less so.

Never heard of Australian Terrier. Had heard about Dingo - a medium-sized canine that possesses a lean, hardy body adapted for speed, agility, and stamina. As far as my knowledge of Terrier is concerned, all I know is that Terriers are a specific group and type of dog that were originally bred to dig and hunt for prey like foxes, moles, badgers, and rats.

@JudyEv Yes, Terrier is a specific breed. But my favourite breed will always be German Shepherd, also known as Alsatian here in India.

@JudyEv yes ma'am we learned that early on. She (Gwen) was the smartest dog. Sadly, she may have been smarter than we were!

Aw, isn’t she adorable? She looks like she’s getting a little lick-the-fingers action going, too.
Australian terriers bark with an Aussie accent, too?
