Another bridge washed away

We have had a lot of storm damage along our coastline in Western Australia but only some strong wind and rain here. Being half an hour inland seems to make all the difference. Our capital has had a lot of damage.
The little bridge in the photo is at Canal Rocks at Yallingup in our south-west. This is a solid iron bridge which replaced a flimsier one that got washed away in a previous storm. Now this one has been broken up and washed away too. The power of the ocean should not be underestimated.
The two young people are couch-surfers from Singapore who stayed with us for a few days several years ago. It was a pleasant, calm day when we visited.

Infrastructures are taking a beating from the disasters and calamities. Two dams in Michigan flooded the state.
Nostalgic post. Memories are good to dwell on.

@JudyEv The people lost all their properties, including cherished mementos.

We always seem to underestimate the power of Mother Nature. She is not one to be messed with. She always gets the last laugh on us!

@JudyEv All we have to do is look up at the heavens to realize how puny we really are.

It looks very safe, doesn't it? It is a popular area with tourists.

@JudyEv Yes looks sturdy. But not sturdy enough for a storm I guess

@JudyEv long as they stay out of trouble. I guess they could be doing online work which seems to net a lot of pod cast money these days.
I hope you will be safe from the floods

Many have jobs but save up so they can travel. Some work along the way if they can find a job. Mostly it's young people who are able to travel cheaply using this method. If you search for 'couch surfing' on myLot you might find more of my posts about some of the people we've hosted.

There was a lot of damage on the coast for sure but luckily it didn't seem to encroach too far inland.

This doesn’t seem like a weak bridge to me at all. The power of the ocean and wind is not to be underestimated at all you are in right!
