Steaming veggies. What veggies do you steam?

Today I steamed a zucchini and ate it with homemade mayo. I had eaten a very late lunch so I was not very hungry.
Often I steam veggies to eat with mayonnaise. Zucchini are favorites and so are Brussels sprouts, asparagus and green beans. I like them almost al dente and served either with mayo or with a vinaigrette.
Do you steam or cook your veggies? I cook others, off course. I cook carrots, beets and fava beans.
Later I´ll take a cup of coffee.

@jayanth_77 So you meant pressure cooking. My eldest daughter uses the pressure cooker for potatoes.

I steam several vegetables, but not zucchini, I like them more sauteed in a pan or baked in the oven with some herbs and breadcrumbs on top to drain the excess water they release. I like steamed carrots, potatoes, asparagus, artichokes, cauliflowers, broccoli.

I do so many things with zucchini that steaming is only one of them. And I have never steamed artichokes or potatoes, I prefer to cook them.

@marguicha Steamed potatoes are delicious, a lot better than boiled if you want to make a potato salad. I steam the big bottom of the very large artichokes, it's a first phase before filling and cooking in the oven.

@marguicha I have for years, it's much faster and they taste just as good. But then I'm a plain cook, I don't cook anything fancy.

@RubyHawk I will try it. The only thing I don´t like is bland veggies. I like them al dente.

@Miss_Leafy Never. I am an addict of baking it in olive oil with onions and sweet peppers.

It is relly nice to steam them because by steaming it retains its nutrients but i prefer blanching and then saute with garlic and salt pepper.

I am more of a stir fry or raw salad with dressing guy. I don't like steamed because they are bland.

I don't care for beets; and asparagus is not a favorite. I love Brussels sprouts, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, beans, etc.

I would eat asparagus every day if they weren´t so expensive where I live. But maybe that´s why I like them so much.
