Why should we try to end poverty?

I am sure you are wondering why I am trying to open this valid concern. Since the coronavirus spreads like a fire, some people did not anticipate the turmoil of this impact on them financially. How much more for those marginalized people? Is it possible to eradicate poverty? Image Credit: habitatforhumanity.org

You can start that by stop voting for boomer politicians. The country needed young blood to get modern solution for modern problems.

Very well said @CaptAlbertWhisker and I think local people need to open their eyes and choose which politicians deserve to be in positions.

@Shavkat Filipinos kept voting for senior citizens who doesn't know how the modern world runs which leads to more debt. Look at Manila and Pasig, their Mayors are not Baby Boomers and they are doing well. The Prime Minister of New Zealand have zero coronavirus on her country now and she is like 35 years old.

Probably one of the most difficult thing to resolve. This takes more than a couple of concerned organization or individuals. It comes from a lot of people to join hands and have the heart for it. I think the richest are the ones very much against this, because the lesser the poor, the lesser people can be exploited by those who have other agendas on their plate.

I do agree that it is a difficult one to be solved. It has been an old issue. The only thing that happened is they were being helped temporarily. In my opinion, giving donations is not enough. Perhaps the local government can give more livelihood programs to help them out.

In my country, the local people are experiencing it now. Even the local government announced that it cannot give more grants to them.

@Shavkat In the United States almost 4 million people are now jobless and they are also receiving nothing more from their Government.

The reality is yes and no. It is possible but not likely. I suspect we have to evaluate as a world what it is we value first.

I do think it needs to evaluate things up before helping them.

@DocAndersen I hope it will still balance. It is likely to happen that the laborers will work hard.

@Shavkat i would like to see us moving towards equitable distribution of the economic benefit. Where poorer countries are encouraged to host manufacturing and other production facilities to help their economies grow.

Yes it is possible when people are creative on creating jobs for themselves and for others because if there is enough money circulation then no one will be poor. Job opportunities is the solution to every problem in the world.

A difficult question in answer. Poverty existed from the beginning of mankind. Its impossible to have zero poverty untill the poor have the means to come out of it.

It is not an easy thing to do. Moreover, we still need to come up with good ideas to address this issue.

@Shavkat Even economic experts who have won Nobel price have not been able to pin point the correct answer. There are always ifs and buts in the solution. Not just economic the issue requires social & political solution also.

if all people are given the same riches, or there is equity, i think there will be no poverty anymore

You said it right. If politicians can share their richness, then everybody is happy.

What a question, I looked at the sky to get the answer..heheh.. Maybe. It may be hard but all people are trying hard to get out of that state. There are many buts and ifs to solve that. If only people are not greedy, if only people are not envious; the list is unlimited. But if we learn to be content and just live within our means then maybe one day we will find a definite answer to this question.

If we come to think of it, bad things happened in this world because of poverty. We cannot blame people for doing these things since they do not have a choice. Life can be a fruitful one to live in a simple life. However, some people are not into this idea. They still wanted more and that makes them greedy.
