Another exciting find in my yard. Yes... another Cardinal nest with three eggs.
I have been doing the happy dance today. I knew the cardinals had a nest but wasn't sure where.
I could see the bottom of the nest in one of my rose of sharon trees but could not reach it.
Finally decided to get a ladder. A small one. Bingo. It worked. Not only is there a nest but three eggs!
The cardinals were chirping nearby as if they were saying go away. So after a few pics, I left them alone. Now there are at least two nests with eggs in the front yard. Exciting times!
A good morning and the crazy bird lady is celebrating!
Walking around in the yard again in the beautiful sunshine. Checking for new growth on the plants and trees. Kept noticing a male and female cardinal flying...

The birds in the tree outside my window seem to be very busy with their nests--a storm coming??

How do you attract so many birds to nest in your yard? I haven't found any birds nests in my yard, but I do have at least three squirrel nests that I can see.

@CarolDM Between my two neighbors, there are probably about 2 dozen bird feeders scattered around their yards. I see tons of birds around here feeding off the bird feeders, but I haven't seen or found any of their nests. I'm wondering if they make their nests elsewhere because of the number of squirrels we have around here? Or maybe it's because of the neighbor's cats that seem to roam around outside all night.

The last 2-3 years I have fed them all winter. The experts will tell you if you keep them around in the winter, most will return in the spring and summer. And my trees are all maturing, that really helps too. I never see squirrels.

Wow! That's exciting!
You should better stay away from the nest. Many birds abandon their eggs if they feel that human might have touched it. I was told this by someone.
