I can imagine how the relatives of three year old Ponce De Leon Florida resident Marshal Butler who is autistic wandered away from his parents home on Wednesday morning. Kayla Stewart who is the aunt of Marshal feared the worst case scenario that her nephew could be lost forever when she contacted the authorities to search for her missing nephew. For several hours law enforcement deputies of the Walton and Holmes County Sheriff's Office and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation searched the area to find him when a neighbor found Marshal in the company of the family dogs Buckwheat and Nala near a river one mile away from his home. Marshal's mom believes that her dogs were guiding Marshal when he wandered away from home as his guardians. Thank goodness for this story having a happy ending.

That's great that the dogs were with the boy. They seem to know when kids are at risk.

My late told me that one dog who is no longer with us named Prince was a very good watchdog when I was very young.

They were incredibly lucky to find him. Those stories often don't end well.

That is true since there are so many stories of heartbreak from families who lose their children at young ages.

Ahh, bless him. So glad he was found safe, and I definitely believe Marshal's mum that their dogs were taking care of him!

The dogs were taking care of Marshal just like my late Prince took care of me when I was a young child.

That's a good thing in your country. If a child is missing, everyone is alert. I am glad they found him.

@Deepizzaguy I had seen how the authority handles well this kind of situation there.

I agree with you since the majority of the time when a child goes missing, they usually wind up getting killed by a criminal.

It is better for the child to have been found alive than reading the bad news he went home to his Maker.

@Deepizzaguy How old is he? He looks adorable in the picture. I asked how old he is because maybe he does not read the newspaper or are you referring to his parents and not him?

This could have been such a tragic story! I'm so glad he was found. A mile away from home is a long way for a 3-year-old to wander.

It is true that a mile away from home is far away. Lucky for Marshal he had an escort with him.

@jayanth_77 I have seen dogs that are kind and gentle whom my family adopted and some mean dogs at the adoption center that I would avoid like the plague sine they are mean.
