Raising Money While Having Fun!

That’s my ice hockey loving grandson holding a sign he and his family made. It’s hard to not play hockey now, even though he was asked to join two major teams as their goalie.
The sign says:
Frustrated?
Take it out on a goalie who misses hockey.
My parents will donate PPE to essential workers for each shot.
His parents loaded up synthetic ice and plopped 16 squares in a city sidewalk in front of a park in Manhattan. Each square weighs 40 pounds. They brought a net, many hockey pucks, and a hockey stick along with plenty of hand sanitizers and wipes.
I saw videos where boys and men couldn’t resist. The kid raised $500 in a few hours while having fun. He didn’t miss one shot either!
The money has already been donated.

That's a very creative way to raise funds, capitalizing on the popularity of a sport. Nice one.

What an ingenious idea! Combine your love and passion for hockey with a love and passion to help mankind. A winning combination! If only all kids were that resourceful, this world would be a wonderful place!

@DianneN Hey, being a goalie in hockey is rough, so it was good experience for your grandson. It will make him a better player getting roughed up a little bit.

@moffittjc I think you're right. If he can play against crazy teenagers and strong men, he will do very well.

People really become creative in so many different ways. Helping has no boundaries. If there is a will, there is a way.
