Rose of Sharon is Blooming

Noticed the first blooms of this year on one of my rose of sharon bushes in the front. So happy. Butterflies will be here soon, The bumblebees also dive into the blooms for the nectar. Made me smile to see the blooms. This is one of three rose of sharon bushes in the front yard. They come back year after year and bring blooms to make me happy. More photos later. This bush is in the hibiscus family. The blooms are similar.

We had so many. Unfortunately, we had them removed last year due to them taking over our gardens. I felt horrible since they were so pretty. We will plant more elsewhere on the property.

Oh no, I have three and they never take over. These get trimmed back a little.

I thought those flowers looked like hibiscus - we have a wee one growing here. I'll have to look up rose of sharon . . . that is a pretty bush!

@CarolDM On our walk, we see bushes similar to this - but I just thought they were all hibiscus. You must have a lot of room out there to grow such lovely things!

I love the rose of sharon, mom had 3 of them but they weren't as bushy as the one in your photo. Maybe it's just too hot for them here.

I don't think I'm familiar with this type of plant. But if the flowers are anything like a rose, or anything like a hibiscus flower--or any combination of the two--then it's got to be a pretty flower!
