Cool masks (bought one for free with points)

I am hearing a lot about folks in Japan worrying about getting heat stroke when wearing hot masks, so of course they are coming up with solutions: "cool mask". I have been looking over the options and found one in the shape I like (no seams because I have glasses; thick seams mess up both my nose and ears). I got one several weeks ago from iHerb, made in Korea. It is nice because it is light but the ear straps get in the way of my glasses; also, it's black, which absorbs sunlight and gets hot. I wanted one in white color because it's cooler and also because now that we are coming out of the desperate "anything is fine because I can't find any masks" phase, most Japanese people are wearing white masks. I already stick out enough, so I decided to find a white one of the pattern I like.
So I found one. Good filter, nice seamless design, washable, also free shipping.
I have several Japanese apps I use for earning points, and I was able to cash in for Amazon points. That plus a gift card we teachers received at the end of the year plus a few Amazon points I already had means I got it free. It originally cost ¥1280. I'm proud of myself for getting to cashout right about the time I needed some Amazon gift card points.
The big drama of the day was that I forgot the password for one of the apps and I had to go through the process of proving I was the owner of that account before I could order.
Are you buying masks online, or making them? Are you thinking about getting cooler masks for the summer if you are in the summer end of things?
Here's the one I am getting.
???????? ?? UV99%????? ?? ???? ????? ???? ??? ???? ??? ??? ???? ???? ??????? (White, M)???????????????????????????????????????????????????????(????)?

That sounds great. I like the plain and light ones also. They help to reduce the heat absorption

I actually made several from scarves that are made of material like sports clothes. I use them when I go shopping or bike riding but I think they are probably too thin for teaching, so I will save this new one until we go back to school in August.

I bought 50 face masks for distribution to the neighbors today. It is the cheap variety that I intend for the kids here to wear. They are always playing in the streets with no face mask.

@petatonicsca the masks are not expensive and I also care for those kids in the streets.

@Alexandoy I'm glad they're not expensive. Here, now, a box of 50 masks costs at least $30 USD (or thereabout, in yen). Used to be you could buy a box of 30 at the hundred yen store (so 30 for $1.00 USD).

I can understand that black masks would be much hotter than white ones. It's could you have the points you needed.

The disposable ones are pretty cool, too, I think. I like to be sustainable in my lifestyle so I use a lot of reusable things like silicone wrap instead of plastic wrap, and other things I won't mention here but reusing saves me a lot of money in the long run. I own a box of disposable masks which I wear if I have to go to the doctor so I can throw it away immediately after. Also I hear that the disposable ones work pretty well.

I seem to hit payout in most of my Japanese apps all at once, which is nice because I can put them all together and get one thing. It takes me about four to five months to get to that point so sometime in the fall I will be able to use them again!
