Hello, dear myLotters! As I posted my first thing just yesterday, I was told that some introduction of myself would be fine as well. So here I am - Anastasia, 26, Ukrainian:) I love my country and don't want to leave it as plenty of my peers have done or are doing, but some things here make me really sad e.g. our roads ?? Though I've been told that in some parts of the USA the roads are the same, which was some comfort, hehe.
I've been married for almost 6 years now and have a baby son Nicholas, so maternity leave is what I'm going through right now. The LO is a nice strong lad - I carried him so much on my hands that even developed a tendovaginitis - like an inflammation of a wrist. This condition is also called "Mommy's wrist", so funny:) so these days I'm wearing a plaster brace on my wrist but it's removable.
My job is teaching English at a private language school and I'm trying to keep this practice up, having one online lesson per day, while my husband is babysitting Nicholas:) I enjoy teaching very much but never stop learning the language myself.
I'm really into reading, as Kafka said "Literature is my flesh and blood", my favourite writers being Tolkien, Lewis, Dickens, Lucy Montgomery and several Russian authors. There are plenty of books in my apartment, however since it's rented, my husband isn't especially happy about that:) I also used to write poems in my childhood and teens, even took some prizes for that, but alas, somehow I've lost either a talent or a wish to write with time. Hope it comes back!
Singing is my another passion. I'm a member of an Orthodox Youth organisation in my city and before the maternity leave I was a host of their concerts and performed there as well. It was fun and a good thing to do, too, since almost all of the concerts were charitable. I also play the guitar a little but not at a concert level, just for myself.
On maternity leave I'm trying not to stay idle and create different online challenges, walk out with a pram a lot, read, participate in some charity as well.
Forgot to say - I also have two sweet rats. Yeah, despite the stereotypes, they are the cleanest and sweetest animals, but have a very short life span. So we love them and spoil them a little:)
Thanks a lot for your attention to this small biography. I'm sure I've missed something however this is a quick overview of my life.

Nice to meet you! I love reading and the authors you mentioned are some of my favorites! I teach music at an international school in Japan. My main instruments are children's choir (yes, choir is an instrument), pipe organ and flute.

Very interesting bio. Glad to get to know you. Hope you get bitten by the poetry again. Do you make YouTube videos. Would love to hear you sing.
Congrats on your baby! Happy Fathers Day to your husband. You sound like you have a wonderful home and a wonderful life. May God continue to bless you personally.
From the news I hear in America, it seems you have another country that wants to bully you. May God bless your country to be independent and free.
And yes. We do have crappy roads in America.

@narniangirl - Well I'll share something else with you about me. I have raised 11 children and want you to know that that first step and that first word are magical moments. You'll see.

Oh, thanks a lot for such an extended answer! It was a pleasure to read it!
Not sure about the poetry, it's so tricky. I suppose people write when they can't help it, it simply overwhelms them. In my case it isn't happening:( But still I'm full of things I'd like to share and I do it on FB time and again and will probably do it here as well:)
Thanks for your wonderful congrats and blessings! The baby and the hubby are cool , but my home isn't. I'm not a clean freak and am very occupied with my baby and my damaged wrist these days so the house is a mess. Hope I'll manage to clean it up soon.
As far as I know political discussion are not encouraged here, so I'm not gonna go into it, but yeah, we've been having a military conflict in the East for 6 years now.
That's funny about roads,I thought we had the worst ones in the world:) and it's especially noticeable when I walk with a pram, so bad!! I hope the child will walk soon and we won't have to rattle on this pits again)

@narniangirl MyLot is an American site, so it's not surprising that you can see many Americans here. There are also many Indians on the site. Europeans are rather rare.

@MALUSE that is cool, I just really like it here, like a big family you all are. Thank you for welcoming me! And sorry for possible language mistakes - English teacher as I am, I'm still far from perfect usage of the language.

Wow, I do feel welcome and special, thanks a lot! And it's nice to see so many Americans here. I have several good friends from the USA, among which a lovely lady from California, ex ballet teacher, we exchange voice messages and send each other gifts by snail mail. That's super sweet!

@mynameiskate Rats are considered the smartest of the above-mentioned! So familiarise yourself with these wonderful rodents, if you have a chance!
