How many of you have them?

Oh, do I hate them. I am talking about student loans. They hang over my head, and I wish I could get rid of them. I wish I had a fairy godmother who would pay for them, but alas! That will not happen. I got a few Pell grants for college, and I worked through college, but you know it adds up. Add to that being in disability right now, and it doesn't feel good. How many of you guys have them? Have some of you paid them off completely?

My husband finally paid off his student loan only about 6 years ago - and he graduated college in the mid 90s! He went to a very expensive private art college.

@AmbiePam Each payment was a huge chunk of money . And funny thing is, he switched career fields before he even finished paying it all off .

Sorry. No loans at all. My father was wealthy and planned all along that each of his three children would go to college and grad school. My husband and I never had a problem affording private schools or Ivy League universities for our two sons, nor law school or grad school for the kids or ourselves. When I was a stay at home mom, things were a little tighter, but we managed. To us, a good education was a given. It paid off well for us all.

I know what you mean. I do have some student debt and I wish I could just pay them off.

I have nieces and nephews that have student loans also. I could not apply for a loan because it would have been based on my Dad's income, and he made too much. I saved and invested my money from a very young age, my babysitting money actually, and I cashed in those debentures when it came time to pay for my tuition. And of course back in those days, tuition wasn't near as over inflated as it is now.

I was lucky when I went to university they gave a lot of special financial aid because my mom was my only parent and I never had any student loans,

I'm sorry you have these debts hanging over your head. It's not the best way to be starting out.

My daughter and son-in-law hope to finally pay theirs off with some of the proceeds from the sale of their house. It has been way too long. You are about their age. I do not know when student loans got so expensive and became such a burden, they were not so high interest when I had them.

Good God no, mine were paid in the 80's. It so absurd when these scammers call with the student loan pitch.

I have no loans, I paid and continue to pay for the education of my 3 children. I got them college educational plans when they were very young and that sort of helps me now , my daughter ( second child) is going to college this school year.

I do not, and I am glad I do not. I know those things can hang over a person's head for many many years. If I ever did go back to school, it would be a community type college with classes I'd pay for as I go.

We don't have studeny loans here. But am not sure if it is the same as Study Now, Pay Later program here. My parents simply financed my studies.

I never experienced this before. It was being paid by my biological parents when I am still studying at university before.

Honestly I don't like any kind of load, paying or having interest is one kind of sin in my religious views.

I got some good advice from someone on the bus one day. I wasn't thinking about going to college at the time. She told me if I ever went to college not to take the government loans to stick with Financial Aide. I took her advice and never had any student loans. I'm sorry you have them hanging over your head.
