A Different Kind of Visitor This Time!

I was working out in the yard the other day and went to turn the faucet on to water the garden. I saw movement out of the side of my eye and went over to investigate.
I found a box turtle scooting along at a pretty good speed for a turtle. He stopped and pulled inside his shell when he noticed me. I had to wait for him to poke his head out to get a picture. I let the little guy go on his way and he was out of sight when I went back to turn the water off.
Do you see turtles in your yard?

@Lignitecityabishek96 I rarely see them here. When we first moved here, there were several but I guess they moved back into the woods.

I came across a box turtle just the other evening when I was out for an evening run. I saw it on the side of the road slowly making its way toward the road. I stopped and picked it up and moved it a good 20 feet off the side of the road, pointed in the opposite way. I hope it didn't turn around and head back to the road after I went on my way!

I hate to see them on the road. We have gravel trucks and logging trucks up and down our road and it is a narrow country road with some hills so not a good place to stop and move a turtle, although I have wanted to or thought, "Now if I had a kid in the car they could hop out fast enough to move the turtle." I'm glad you had the opportunity to move the little guy!

@kareng Why does it always seem like the turtles want to cross at the most dangerous parts of the roads? lol

No, we don't get turtles in our yard, but by Tawas Lake they live by the shoreline. I think we have snappers though.

@kobesbuddy They are. Box turtles are harmless though. My kids kept them as pets when they were kids.

No turtles here in my house.
Only chirping birds, jumping squirrels and annoying bugs.

Turtle is nowhere to find in our place. Turtle has a great influence in my life when I a grade one kid. The principle I learned from playing 3 little turtles made me of what I am today.
