Japanese Dorama's Loyal Fan

Despite the Korean dramas which are now becoming more popular in my country Indonesia, or maybe the whole Asia, I'm still the big loyal fan of Japanese doramas and now I'm watching Tokyo Love Story 2020. I guess most Indonesian from 90's generation are familiar with Tokyo Love Story which aired on TV in 90's.
Since this dorama is a remake of the old version, the plot is basicly the same, but for me it's still worth to watch, at least to help me kill my boredom for just staying at home at the weekend. Actually now we are already allowed to go out with the certain protocols, but it's better to stay at home right?
Are Japanese doramas also popular outside Asia?

In Japan, of course Japanese dramas are popular, but so are Korean dramas.
