The Pool Popped!

Our younger son bought a pool, filter, chloride tablets, and a pool cover for his girlfriend when she comes to visit him at his house. They spent May and June enjoying it until it popped! He was able to send it back to wherever he ordered it for a full refund. The funny thing is that we have the same pool for our grandkids in our basement all boxed up and used once! We plan on donating it for their summertime pleasure before he installs an in ground pool. Happy July! We are off for a golf game with him and his girlfriend is joining us. We will have a breakfast on the patio supplied by all of us. See you later!

Our portable pool looks the same as that in the picture. We have not used it for more than 5 years.

I hope it doesn't pop when and if you do use it!

@DianneN maybe it has some leaks already since it was not used for a long time.

@Alexandoy No, this pool was brand new. The one I have to give him may indeed have leaks due to age. Pure junk!

No pools can be found now. I'm guessing with kids being home, all the parents ran out and bought them all up. We will give him the pool stored in our basement. We bought it years ago for the grandkids, and they only used it once. That will be one less thing that hogs up our basement.

Wished we had this kind of a small pool. My brother made a small huge space but instead he used it to make a pond.

Thanks! A pond would be so well loved by little critters and perhaps gold fish.

Those things never last long, but this one really lasted too little. I suppose that the water flooded his patio I hope that chlorine will not stain the floor.

It was a cheap pool. My mother always said that you get what you pay for. No, the patio was fine and extra clean.

@LadyDuck My son couldn't help it. It was the only pool left. So was the one we bought for the grandkids. We needed one real fast when my son told us they would be in Connecticut that weekend.

I used to have a pool like that for my grandkids. I heard this morning that any type of kiddie pools are almost impossible to find. Enjoy your golf game and breakfast!!

I'm not surprised that pools are hard to find with smart people staying home. Thanks! We had a blast and my son's girlfriend is better at golf than I. AND, she never played before!

I had a pool do that just as we got in and started enjoying it. I think it had to do with the site not being completely level though.

That's too bad. The upper white part of the pool went first, then little by little the rest went.

Thanks, Judy! It was very pleasant, sunny, and comfortable playing early. Wishful thinking on both our parts. My son's girlfriend never golfed before and did better than I. Perhaps it was beginner's luck!

@JudyEv I do hate it and faced the fact long ago that I will always stink at golf. Tennis is another story. I'm not too bad at it.

@DianneN Don't you just hate that? My first ever game of golf didn't go too badly and I imagined you'd just keep improving but it doesn't seem to work that way,

@DianneN And your son was able to get a full refund, that's good news. A man piddled around on our roof for fifteen minutes, for a measly stove pipe. He billed Jay $900 for a service call, which was a royal shafting:( So, what will Jay do about this? He refused to pay this amount, the jerk can sit on his hiney for the rest of his life, waiting for the payment to arrive. When he built a home, Jay gave this guy a discount price on every piece of lumber

@DianneN I agree with him. I would rather have fun with a hose in summer than to have beasts infecting me with the virus. Your pool will be fine until the virus is controlled.

He should, but doesn’t want covidiots in and around his house now. A pool takes a lot of planning, lighting, landscaping, fencing, designing, blah, blah.... He’s picking up our old pool tomorrow.
