It really amazes me to see fellow Mylotters seeing their names on Hot Discussions. They always get the highest number of responses because their discussions really entertain us. We know who they are.
As for me, I am okay with the number of responses I get. It may not be high but am still thankful that some peope read my discussions.
So far, my highest number of responses is 144. That was when I posted about the passing away of our fellow mylotter Bhem. Not sure if some more responded because it is hard to locate it.
What about you my fellow mylotters, what is the highest number of responses you've got here?

hmmm i rarely check hot discussions. i used to do that when i first joined this site and i usually don't find them interesting or i got nothing to say to that. i'll still go with my - it's not that important what you post but when you post it and how long you've been on this site. i don't know about my discussions, i'm not sure i ever reached even 20

the reason is because some posts are suggested to followers, especially if they are very important, like posts from admin that everyone should know about and, sadly, deaths of members, like barry (aka koalemos/asylum), alex and bhem.

I think you are right, it depends on what people think is a hot discussion.
Most of my own discussion topics leave people cold...lol...
My stats show that I have started 389 discussions, and have had 654 responses.
Perhaps these stats are wrong though, as I know that I have had more than 1, or 2 responses for each discussion, as these figures are showing me here.
I usually get nearly a half dozen, or so, to each discussion.

The stats are correct. The figure against responses is the number of responses YOU have made to others. You can only know the number of responses you have received by going through the list of your discussions totalling the number of responses for each.
Mentions and Likes are the only figures which show other people's activity towards you.

@innertalks There are all sorts of stats which would be interesting to have (if not useful) but re-jigging the pages takes extra time and money and we don't have those sort of resources at present.
I can tell you that the average discussion receives between 9 and 10 responses (and about double that number of comments). You can scan your discussion list fairly quickly to see whether you're getting more or less than the average. If it's more, then you're doing OK. If less, then you may want to rethink your strategy.

@GoAskAlice Oh, thanks. I was seeing that figure all wrong then.
I wonder if including the number of responses we have received would be a useful stat to display too.
I don't think l would ever do it manually.
