How many of you open your presents on Christmas eve?

We open ours on Christmas eve - it's a German tradition. I have never known any other kind of Christmas :)

I like to do it right on christmas morning, but this year is unlike any other, my son was born last christmas in the evening so this year its his 1st birthday, first christmas morning, my first year with baby. Of course all our family want to join in the celebration, so my mother, step dad and grandmother are comming 2nd week in december for christmas/birthday, because they work through the real holiday. Then well have another christmas / birthday with my inlaws on christmas eve. Then well do christmas morning, with my birth father, and a few close friends. ahhhhhh I'm just stresssed out looking st it, the tree is already up.

We wait till christmas morning to open, but I like the idea of mom and dad opening christmas eve after th kids go to sleep. Christmas morning is so busy with the kids that we really don't have much time to look at what we got.

The kids get to open one of the smaller gifts. My husband and I usually have one each, so we open them after the kids on Christmas morning.

My kids open 1 present from us on Christmas Eve... And we leave our presents under the tree, cause we too get a gift from Santa Claus.. Well when they were still believers that is.

Growing up, we always opened all the gifts (everyone did) on Christmas Eve, then we got the Santa gifts Christmas Day. We pretty much do the same now.

When I was growing up we always opened 1 present, our pick, on Christmas Eve then opened all the rest Christmas day with the Santa gifts. Since I have children I have continued to that it is so much fun to watch the kids pick the biggest gift which is not ALWAYS the best gift. It gets better and better every year as they think they have gotten wiser from the year before!

when i was younger i would open my presents on new years eve at my grandparents house, now that i have my own kids, we wait till christmas morning

When we were little we were allowed to open one gift on Christmas Eve. It was usually pajamas or sometimes a new outfit to wear to midnight mass. I did that for a while with my kids, but now that they're older it's all on Christmas Day.

We tend to open one each on Christmas Eve and the rest on Christmas Day. It's normally been our routine to let the kids open their Santa presents first thing in the morning, then breakfast, and then it's time to get dinner going. After dinner, we put around all the presents from under the tree, in fact, the kids, when young, used to dress in their fairy costumes and santa hats depending whether they were girls or boys, and take the presents around the family. This year is going to be great because the whole family is getting together for lunch and tea, plus presents, games and stuff, in a local church hall, three generations. I'm really looking forward to that, but will probably still open just the one present on Christmas Eve.:-)

We always change it. Sometimes in the eve, other times in the morning. It is just us now, so it doesn't matter. When we had young ones, we would do it in the morning, after I baked a cake for Jesus, and we sang Happy Birthday to Him.

as a child we never touched our presents until after morning church service and now i`m a parent we follow the tradition of opening presents after lunch the excitement in the house is so wonderful
