All of you know that "All that glitters is not Gold".
Like wise the time is also not glittered but changes every minute with more glaze and colour, thats why it is called as 'Time is Gold'.

Gold is (or was) the most precious metal. Silence is also 'golden' but clouds tend to have a 'silver lining' ... odd, isn't it?
I think people would tend to smile if one described time as platinum or iridium, though!
In Yorkshire there is a saying 'Where there's muck there's brass' meaning that there's a lot of money to be made from the dirtiest jobs!

Hi,when the proverb was framed the only valueble good was GOLD[no PLATINUM..NO DIAMONDS..]at the same time to tell the importance of the TIME,our elders compared with gold..
