Family is very important, having a good family is a fortune in itself. However, I can quite relate to how your friend feels. In my culture, inheritance is a tradition that most parents supply to their children. Most of my friends actually have inheritance and it is very helpful because they don't start from scratch. They get to a certain age and they can buy their house or a house is already prepared for them. They also have a car, and they don't have to try too hard to get anywhere in life. I on the other hand have had very careless parents, who have not set aside inheritance for their children. Yes, I do feel bad about being entitled to something but this is our culture. Their parents left them assets and money that they have squandered.

Thank you for your comments, as an fellow Asians I do felt the same thing about it.
Most of them have special privilege unlike most of us who have to fight our way up, I do fell sorry about my friends and this example encouraged me to not have kids before I can finally afford the in any way.

Sounds like the friend is doing a corporate manager level job.

For me, the most important thing is family.
Because they will always be there when I am successful or fall into trouble.
The most special treasure is family.
