I woke up early and hearing the local news on TV. The reporter is broadcasting that the 'valve type mask' or N95 is not effective in protecting ourselves to coronavirus. I tried to research further and it was said that it can only filter when inhaling the air and not in exhaling the air, which it contradicts the main goal. All along that I thought it is the most advisable mask for people. Is this the reason why some frontliners were inflicted with coronavirus? Now, I am confused. Are you?
Mostly used in construction settings and not by health care workers, valve masks are a type of N95 mask that with a one-way valve.

you are sso right. N95 may be suitable for volcanic eruptions or the like. but i think it is not right for the virus because you have to breathe out and breathe in as well.

In fact, I am so skeptical if face mask really protects us, since it is claimed to be airborne. We are still susceptible to have it since there is no cure yet.

@ridingbet If I am out, I need to be far from other people more than 1 m.

There are so many contradictions with their statements lately. This is a very alarming situation.

@amitkokiladitya You are right with this matter. We do not know how to combat this enemy.

When you see health care workers with that kind of mask they often have one of those face-shields too. Maybe that's why, I'm pretty sure the ones using masks regularly have known about that all along.

@Shavkat Which is why it's a mask like that makes sense for people working with sick people, they need to protect themselves. I don't think that kind of mask is made for wearing out and about.

At some point, the wearer is protected. I just a bit concern about what if he or she is infected with the virus, he or she might spread it. For the reason that the air is not filtered if breathing out.

@Shavkat I have the cloth ones that I wear. I have not ever worn a valve one. I find that I have read things and then found out they were not true so that makes me wonder what to believe anymore.

For this reason, I still need to do social distancing with face mask.

@Shavkat I believe so much in wearing a face mask and social distancing. I believe those two things will help us stay away from those that do not follow the rules and hopefully not get the virus.

yes the valve type N95 mask will protect you but if you have Covid the filtering will not happen while you exhale and it will infect others.

Exactly, my friend. This is what I am worried about. What if they are inflicted with the virus, there is a possibility that they can spread the virus.

It could be that way. In my opinion the best thing to avoid getting infected with Corona is to keep the maximum distance possible. wearing a mask does not guarantee one hundred percent safe.

I agree. That's the reason why I tried my best to do social distancing more than 1 m. How far is the distance apart required there?

I dont think they know anymore than we do. They are just throwing things out there and hoping something works besides letting a persons own immune system do its job.

I agree. With this matter, the government really needs to support them with their protective gear. The frontliners need to boost their immune system,

That's terrible and you could be right because many Frontliners were infected everywhere

I am not sure what's really the real thing now. All I know, we still need to have extra careful when going out.
