So, are here some guitar players? How to start my guitar lessons? Is it important to have good listening skills? Have to read these alien inscriptions, called tabs?

I tried to learn to play the piano, but only learned to understand some tabs, but it was a long time ago.. I had no piano, so now I only listen to music..

I teach guitar in my grade 5 music class. Your left hand fingers the strings: 0 means open string. 1 is your pointer finger (this is different from piano), 2 your middle finger, 3 your ring finger and 4 your pinkie. The stems show you what rhythm to use and the position on the tab shows you which string to finger. Your right hand will be plucking the rhythm on the same string that you finger. Does that help?

Also take a look at this guitar lesson series on YouTube. i used this for distance learning for my fifth graders who had guitars at home this year.
