Tried Drizly

Do you know what Instacart is? It is a shopping app that you can use for drug stores, grocery stores, etc. You place your order online, pay with a credit card, and the products are delivered to your doorstep. There is a delivery fee and a suggested tip. You have to decide if the extra expense is worth the convenience of having everything purchased and delivered for you. I've been interested in seeing exactly how it all works. I ordered some hard seltzer with a black cherry flavor. It was easy enough to place the order, add the credit card information, etc. And the age check? I just had to enter my birthday. I didn't have to provide any ID either virtually or in person when they dropped off the order. I can see teenagers and college students just tearing it all up with Drizly. I don't even understand how the whole thing is legal. In any case my seltzer was just delivered in a custom reusable Drizly bag. Now the whole world can know that I get my alcohol delivered straight to the apartment.

We have had a spirits express here for at least a decade. Long before corona. And their delivery vehicles have a lit sign on the top like a taxi does, no hiding what you had brought to the door.

oh I don't care about that. I just find it more interesting that they don't check IDs

@NJChicaa I believe that here you have to set up an account with them online, like skip the dishes, and you have to scan your ID when you open the account, although with a scanned piece of ID, it is easy to miss a fraudulent one.

You are right. The site will be used by underage teens, I wonder how long it will take before they are busted? Or sued? I can just see a teen getting behind the wheel, having an accident and potentially killing some innocent person.

I'm surprised they just ask for a birthday. Leaves it wide open for a lot of abuse.
