...herds of the elephants. It seems she is the most powerful in the elephant's family. In humans, who should be leading the family, the mother, or the father? Since I was born, it is my father who leads us. It is the cultural thing being practiced by some families in my country. Do you think it should be equal in leading the family? I think that in "humans" it should be equal, as both man and woman have the same responsibilities, they should take decisions together... it's almost never the case.

I do agree with you. They need to work together since both of them decided to raise their own family.

In my day was father too but think mother slowly taking over. Mostly do to everything is screwed up, think modern times a true healthy family has both now as equal partners.

I also remembered that my mom started to be the leader in some cases during my childhood years. The transition to being equal when my siblings and I entered the university.

At present, most families acknowledged gender equality.

Animals do not have the concept of money and so, naturally, it's the mother leading. Even in humans, if you take out the monetary part, you can clearly see that it's the females who lead the family.

That's nice. It means you are believing that mothers should be leading the family in terms of handling the money, right?

@Miracle_Maya I go your point now. I agree that one of them will take over managing the financial part.

@Shavkat No, not exactly. I believe financial planning must be done by whoever has more knowledge about investments and savings, or by both together if both have good knowledge. Gender has little role in it, while knowledge is what is more of an important criteria here.

In parts of our country, mother is the leader of the family. In our family father was the leader but the trend is changing fast both father and mother take care of the family equally and that is right I believe.
