Saturday Talks IV : The active talker vs the active writer!

Some folks like to be active and talk to a lot of people. Or give big speeches. They love to face the limelight. Or cameras. Then there are others(me included to some extent) who can think and write a lot. And also talk well to a few folks in their personal live(s). Yet such folks are not comfortable in talking to a big audience or facing the camera. Some can do it but with some training. It is not appropriate to put one kind of a person and give more of the second kind of activity to that person. Comments invited.

@Butterfingers That is fine, but I would advise you to try out more at public speaking. You still have age on your side, and you can learn from your mistakes and experiences. It becomes much more tougher after 40 years of age.

I enjoy taking to large groups and being on camera. I had training, but I always get nervous. When it’s over, I want to do it all over again.

@DianneN That reflects in your fashion sense! My wife would love to meet you ! But the ideas that she would get would be a further disaster for my finances!!

@DianneN Even I no longer dare to ask about many things. I roughly remember the date/month of purchase but from where is something I repeatedly ask much to the amusement of my wife.

I hate to be in limelight or to give speeches perhaps that is not my cup of tea. I could write a bit as in the case of your second category but that too a limited way.

@msdivkar Now it seems that many of my regular contacts here at Mylot are similar to me- comfortable with writing but not so much with talking.

I dislike talking in public, it does not matter if it is a small group or a large group. I am very shy.

@LadyDuck I can understand. Not everyone is equal at speaking in groups. You are much more good probably at writing!

I've done public speaking. It's nerve-wracking, but I always get through it. I prefer writing.

@just4him Not everyone is equally good and confident as a public speaker.

@amitkokiladitya That is a good quality- and have you been able to apply that skill in some vocation or job?

@amitkokiladitya Well it's a complex thing. I have lots to share but even I have not understood many complexities of life.

What you say is quite correct. Some people are not happy in front of big crowds.

@JohnKu Yes many of us are shy or conscious in front of camera. I am less hesitant now, but not too comfortable as well.
