TikTok Is Becoming Popular

I hope this joke will not sound corny. While surfing on YouTube, I stumbled upon a silly punch line in the video. I want to share the video here, but it is in the Filipino language. So I will try to translate it. Woman 1: You are so beautiful. Woman 2: Thank you. Woman 1: You are like a password. Woman 2: Why am I like a password? Woman 1: Because you are the one who knows it. I am so shallow when it comes to silly jokes. I think this video is a product of TikTok. Have you tried to do TikTok? What do you think about its popularity? Image Credit: adweek.com

I haven't seen how does it work. I prefer to be here and there. At least, I can earn some pennies than doing TikTok.

@Shavkat Same here. In fact I deactivated my Facebook and Instagram accounts for a little because I need some distance! I only keep Twitter as an easy way to be informed about the news worldwide!

Me and my wife were very active TikTokers but sadly it got banned in India recently. Now we are on Roposo. Not as good as TikTok, but comes somewhat closer to it.

@Shavkat TikTok is not just about looking funny with those rabbit ear, cat whiskers effects. Here in India, manyTikTokers use it to lip synch to melodious film songs. It is very culture specific. If you are familiar with Hindi film songs, you will understand it. Many others produce 30 or 60 second drama clips based on popular jokes and a variety of other themes. Some use it to provide health and fitness tips, cooking tips, home remedy tips for common ailments, etc..I have seen many western experts showing self defense techniques using apps like TikTok.

@sweerie_banana I have heard of Snapchat but still not used it. Now I will, and see if it's a good alternative for TikTok. Thanks for your mention of the same! :)

It is nice that you and your wife like it. Perhaps it is fine as long as it's funny. Personally, I am not sure if I can enjoy it. I do not want to look strange and be watched by my colleagues, family members, and relatives.

I also think that it is not appropriate for professionals to act weirdly and be watched by thousands of people virtually.

I am curious about this. Why did your country ban the app?

@Shavkat It's a China app and this step was taken because of the recent strain in the relationship between India and China at the borders. Our country is trying to discourage the use of Chinese products as well.

@rebelann I also think not to use my mobile phone to any apps that can earn extra pennies. Yesterday, a mobile app is asking so many requirements despite hitting the minimum payout.

@Shavkat the Indian government has evidence that the tiktok app collects user data and shares it with the Chinese government.
