What Kind of Laugher are You?

Sometimes I laugh so hard that I can not make a sound until I catch my breath. I call that a hearty laugh. but it is belly laughter.
I also do silent laughter when I do yoga.
I admit that I giggle at times, but believe that belongs to nervous laughter. Usually I picture socially awkward and fat people as gigglers, but I am neither.
I have also been a part of most of the laughters listed below. The cruel laughter was when my friend bounced down a few steps on her behind. I couldn’t stop laughing.
According to an article by Molly Edmonds and Joseph Miller from “How Stuff Works” there are 10 types of laughter.
Etiquette laughter
Contagious laughter
Nervous laughter
Belly laughter
Silent laughter
Stress-relieving laughter
Pigeon laughter
Snorting laughter
Canned laughter
Cruel laughter
When I listened to the video my granddaughter made about a competition she had last January (in my photo collage), I actually screamed with laughter. The music she chose was hilarious. By the way, she took 3rd place. I had stress-relieving laughter then.

@DianneN Although I've never had a double flip combo . . . I surely would have fallen on an attempt . I'm definitely not fat, but I used to feel I was very socially awkward. Better to have a contagious giggle than a contagious virus .

Thanks so much for taking the time to read it. It came from a video, which was hilarious. I’m certain you could relate out of all the myLotters!
I’m sure your giggle is very contagious, so I will plop you into the contagious laughter group. I know you aren’t fat or socially awkward.

@much2say I still don't know what a double flip combo is or anything else for that matter. They all look the same to me.
I used to feel excruciatingly self conscious in 7th and 8th grades, but out grew it, thank goodness.
I love that contagious giggle rather than a contagious virus! You are so witty!

I have stress-relieving laughter that sounds like a seal. When something is so funny it just makes me start laughing and sounding like a seal. It causes other people to laugh too. I have nervous laughter when things aren't as they should be, more embarrassed laughter. I can't stop laughing. I've had to learn to laugh like everyone else, maybe canned laughter?

Cute pix. Congrats to your Ice Princess. I used to "silent laugh" when I worked...Now I laugh in a variety of ways. My husband will give me a good belly laugh from time to time. I'm glad I don't snort. Have a wonderful Friday and date night. :-)

I made soda come out of my mother’s nose a few times from laughing so hard.
I like belly laughs. I enjoy laughing until I cry.
I even enjoy making the pigeons laugh.

I've never really thought about my various types of laughter, so I'll have to pay attention and see what kind of laughter I use in various situations.

@DianneN I can be a belly laughter, if I get into one of those hysterical laughing moods!
Also, it wasn't on the list, but there is also the kind of laughter you have when you are excessively tired. I call it being slap-happy, although I don't know if there is another term for it. It's when you are so tired that you go into laughing fits over things that aren't even really funny. My daughter was doing that the other night.

@moffittjc I'm sure you and I will have lots of belly laughs together.
Yes, slap happy should be on the list, too, as well as drink happy.

@DianneN We had a good laugh yesterday talking about many things that my jaw is tired now of laughing. It was a good laughter exercise yesterday in her party although we were only a few.
I am sure you will still have more videos to watch and have a good belly laugh. Enjoy your day.

@amitkokiladitya It's practiced in yoga and laughing without opening your mouth. Kind of sounds like a pigeon.

@hellorahmat You can be anything you want! I had to give an impromptu speech to a large group of people once, and I had them rolling on the floor with laughter. I don't know how I did it, but the feeling was wonderful!
