Food Porn: "Pickled Bamboo Shoots"

There is so much food that can be edible in my country. For my dinner, I had 'pickled bamboo shoots.' I like eating it with fried fish. It tastes heavenly with meat in it. I asked my younger brother to buy it in a nearby market today. Since it is too many to have them, I will give some to my aunts in jars. Do you like eating this? Do you use it in a particular delicacy in your country?

I've never even heard of pickled bamboo shoots before, Shavkat. You know I eat bamboo shoots I grow in my yard, usually cooked in soup or added to something I'm frying. I'm not really into eating pickled foods, though. Can you tell me something it tastes like that I might have eaten?

It tastes a bit salty and sour. I am not sure if you are into this kind of taste. It was like shredding artichokes with spices.

@DaddyEvil Really? I heard that artichokes are abundant in America.
I am officially changing my screen name to 'Rufo' to remember him every day. He was a good husband and a father. According to my grandma, my father's name is...

@Shavkat Artichokes may be abundant here but that doesn't mean everyone eats them. Lots of things are abundant here that I've heard of but never seen. I apologize, Shavkat... I would never make fun of your father or his name had I realized at the time. I'm sorry.

I like that a lot but I add some saluyot leaves since I cook it. The pickled version is very tasty!

My mother sometimes uses jute leaves. Unfortunately, my younger brother can't find them in the nearby market today.
