A pony called Possum

The pony in the photo is Possum. When I married and moved away from home, my father continued to take two ponies to the local Pony Club in Narrogin, Western Australia, as mounts for members who didn’t have a pony.
Vince put this photo up on a FB site called Lost Narrogin. The little girl in the photo, now of course, a grown woman, got in touch and talked about her time in Pony Club. The girl’s father was Vince’s boss when he worked in a bank. The mother also used one of our horses to do a training course. So there were a few connections with the family.
The mother, now in her 90s, lives not far from us so we intend to call in on her one day soon. As much as I complain about FB, I have to confess it does have its uses.
Edit: My father made Possum's bridle.

Now we just need a possum called Pony!
Look at the sweetness in that horse’s eyes!

As much as I hate Facebook, it is very good for tracking people down and reconnecting from bygone times.

@JudyEv I'm like you, I barely go there myself. People will contact me and ask me, "Are you okay? I haven't seen you on Facebook in months." And I'll respond, "I'm perfectly okay, specifically because I haven't been on Facebook in months!" LOL

@moffittjc I 'troll' (I think that is the word) a couple of sites now but I never like or comment. I'd be sure to put my foot in it at some stage.

@JudyEv as far as FB is concerned I've deleted quite a few people (cousins) who used it for controversy. I enjoy going there now without the hassle of said people being rude and obnoxious.

Facebook is a great way to connect withe people, especially those that are not near us. Possum is an interesting name for a pony.

I guess Possum is a slightly better name than 'Kangaroo'.

Beautiful pony. Yes, using social media platforms like FB has its advantages, too.

@JudyEv. How happy you are having some ponies in your life. In Indonesia the family who have some ponies are the blessing family because it is not cheap to have some ponies:)

In those days, horses were used for stockwork on the farms. My father bred and sold stock horses. It is expensive now to have a horse.
