We have visitors arriving on Sunday

We had a phone call last night from Vince’s older sister. On Sunday evening, she and her husband are coming to stay with us until Thursday. It will be good to see them. Vince is sussing out new recipes to try on them.
We will take them to our favourite winery and perhaps to Greenbushes which has a very interesting museum. The area was once known for tin-mining but currently produces huge amounts of titanium. From there, we’ll go on to Nannup, a small town which plants several thousand tulip bulbs each year. In January, I wrote about emus roaming the streets of Nannup.
Although the residents were concerned that the virus would stop tourists coming to admire the tulips, many have travelled to the town to see the displays in the streets. With our low rate of infection and the spectacle being out of doors, many have taken the chance to have a day out in the country. And we’ll be joining them.

@moffittjc She can be a bit prickly sometimes but has a heart of solid gold. She is always helping someone with something.

@JudyEv The situation is getting really bad again here in Europe. We have to thank all the young people who are coming back from their summer vacations, they did not respect any rule, they refused to wear masks and now the virus is spreading as it did during the past winter.

I'm so glad your hometown has very low covid numbers. Ours got worse and in shutdown for 2 wks. Enjoy your time with family & new recipes.

i think personally the virus has changed tourism a little, but now we go to the family. In the long run that may be a much better trend anyway.

All the facilities to the north, where it is warm and sunny despite being winter, are booked out. They are having a marvellous season now. Hopefully it will encourage more West Australians to see more of their own state instead of heading to Bali or wherever.

We thought it was kind of long too 
His sister is a bit opinionated sometimes but it's a compliment to think she wants to stay that long. She has a heart of solid gold and is always helping someone. She gets quite intense sometimes. Hopefully she can recharge her batteries here and go back refreshed. Once she has returned home, we will recharge our batteries!!! Seriously though, it will be fine.

Good that tourists have started to come to admire the tulip gardens and the virus spread has reduced.
