The Laundry Needs To Get Done

There is 7 of us that live in our household, so you can probably imagine what a nightmare it is to get the laundry done. I do think it's nice to have our own washer and dryer but that can take a long time to get it all done. It takes the better part of the day anyway. So sometimes I just want to get it all done quickly so I consider just going to the laundromat and just getting it done all at once. I try to talk myself into doing that but I choose the stay at home option. Especially now that the coronavirus is running wild. What do you guys prefer, the laundromat or your own washer/dryer?

Like now we live in Arizona so it is soooo hot, it's a chore to get out in the heat to do the laundry.

@CarolDM Me too, everyday I try to remind myself I'm that much closer to cooler weather. Summers here in AZ is brutal.

@djbrat13 It is a lot of work dragging everything to the laundromat.

@djbrat13 The only time I went to the laundromat was in my husband and my first year of marriage and we rented an apartment with no washer and dryer.

Me too, maybe that's why I never talked myself into going to the laundromat, ha ha ha

I have a washing machine and wash my clothes there. I don´t have a dryer and won´t ever have one. I wash when the sun is shining ans dry it in the sun.

@djbrat13 If you can do it, it is the most healthy way to do it.

Oh I do that too. The last place we lived in we strung rope out in the back of the house and dried our clothes and everything like that.

Oh, that's an easy question. I prefer my own washer and dryer and do 1 to 2 loads a day just for the two of us. I can only imagine 7!

I wouldn't even think about using the laundromat if I didn't have such a heavy laundry load. It's super convenient.

At one point in my life I had seven people living in my home, in various ages, and stages of health. I had my own washer and dryer and washed two loads every day. It was a lot.

Yep, and I go through a lot of laundry detergent and dryer sheets. My poor washer and dryer probably hate me, lol

Yeah plus you have to make sure you had coins for all the loads. Some places have debit card slot but the ones I've used didn't.

We use our own washing machine mostly except for the delicate wears which we take to the dry cleaners.

It must be tricky to be able to use the washing machine when the are many people trying to use it as well!

Yeah, I think the only time they aren't in use is at night, and even then sometimes they're going.

I have to do laundry at least every days or so. My boys do help and do their own most often. So when I go to do mine, the machines are always full.
