@MarieCoyle It's a thing with me. I can't help myself. Why just let these old posts rot, collecting dust on the server, right? I know I am repeating myself from my former comment, but can't just leave this one hanging out there either.
As for all of us being a work in progress, my wife would tell you this is absolutely true.

My apologies on the oversight. I live in the United States. I love to read, like to visit historical places, I love visiting beaches. I spend time researching my family history. I like to meet new people, too.

@MarieCoyle If myLot is anything, it is a treasure trove of the human condition, from all walks of life, all cultures, even world's away we find that many of us are just in fact people even if we live differently, talk differently...it's a fascinating place for sure.

I truly do enjoy the diversity here. Like you said, all walks and all cultures, it is a constant learning experience and a peek we wouldn't really see reading a book, or just visiting the country the poster is in--we get a firsthand, day-to-day view of what other's lives are like. I like learning about different lifestyles.

I have made some friends and read a lot of interesting posts. I have learned more about people in general, and what makes them tick--I don't think we are ever really done learning about the complexity of people. I have enjoyed some good conversations and been actually appalled at a few others as well. In general, yes.
I especially like the fact that we come and go as we please, and that we can go back to a post if it's still there, like this one, and reflect. We generally learn something from everyone we meet or interact with, and I hope to never be done learning.

Hi Marie!
This discussion of yours has just popped into my view. I didn’t know you back then, but I’m glad we both made it through the pandemic. I just had another booster shot recently, the 1st for a couple of years. I caught covid about this time last year, but wasn’t given the vaccine prior because I wasn’t old enough. This year I am, and so far so good. (touch wood and all that) 
Anyway, it was good to see your 1st discussion and how tentative you were posting it. Now there’s no holding you back!

I was definitely feeling the waters and I had read a lot of discussions before I joined. To be honest, at the time I was joining, I didn't think it would work--from a stranger's view (my own) mylot seemed very much like a clique, and people seemed very...well, many only talked to certain people. But I went wild and joined, haha! I had written in a few other places, but I wanted a different format so...here I am!

You are right about the virus, it's very difficult to deal with the virus on a daily basis. I know I am trying, but some days it is just hard.
